FlatTop K9’s style of training first starts with building a relationship with the dog! Once a bond and trust is established, then the training begins. A dog (just like a child) needs to be told when they're doing something right, and when they're doing something wrong because even in the dog world, everything is about choices. How do I reward or motivate the dog??? Food and Play! When your dog finishes their stay with us, I will teach you how to be successful with your dog. With that being said, the training never stops!!! You, the owner must be committed in order for your dog to be successful long term!!!

My love for dogs started at a very young age. I believe my love for animals came from my father who loved everything and everyone. Always having a dog growing up, I was always amazed at how fast they could learn given the right information. My desire to train was evident after I got my first German Shepherd. She was only part of our family for 4 years when she developed a nerve issue in her spine paralyzing her. I had to make the hard decision not to let her suffer anymore. From that relationship, my desire became even stronger to help other dogs. I have had the honor and privilege to train, study and learn from some of the top trainers in this business!  Using those skills, I was able to train and help many dogs and their families. It was then, I realized that God has given me a gift to communicate with these dogs to help better their lives. So with the encouragement/support of my beautiful wife, family and friends, FlatTop K9 was born...
